Mozambique has officially reinstated its Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) requirement for visitors from 29 visa-exempt countries. Effective July 31, 2026, eligible international travellers must secure a Mozambique ETA before boarding their flight, following the resolution of persistent technical issues.
The Mozambique ETA was initially launched in April 2025 but quickly suspended due to issues with the online application portal. Authorities confirm that the newly upgraded system is now fully operational, ensuring a smoother application process.

While these nationalities no longer require a traditional visa for Mozambique, it is crucial to obtain the ETA at least 48 hours before departure.

Mozambique streamlines both travel authorization systems through a single online portal:
- ETA: For travellers from the 29 visa-exempt countries. Valid for one entry and a stay of up to 30 days. Costs about US$48.
- eVisa: Required for travellers from all other countries, including India. Depending on the visa type, stays of 30 to 90 days are available.

In February 2026, Mozambique launched a new cloud-based digital visa platform, developed with technical support from VFS Global. This upgraded system replaces the problematic platform that previously led to the ETA suspension.

- Multiple visa categories, including tourist, business, crew, sports, humanitarian and oil and gas travel
